About the event
CADAS is offering a FREE one-day training session for support workers to enable them to deliver their own #healthy #habit #hacking sessions to their clients.
This day is a micro-teach where we will cover all of the topics briefly and supply you with a comprehensive set of teaching notes so that you can deliver the course independently.
What is #healthy #habit #hacking?
It’s a 6 week programme that gives people with mental health support needs information, ideas and support to tackle unhealthy or unhelpful habits as well as the motivation to set up new ones.
This day is a micro-teach where we will cover all of the topics briefly and supply you with a comprehensive set of teaching notes so that you can deliver the course independently.
Why is this important?
We want to enable people to better manage those co-occurring health issues that statistically increase with serious mental illness (SMI).
A breakdown of the 6 sessions:
- Atomic Habits”– looking at the psychology and physiology around addictions and habit making/breaking tools and techniques,
- Alcohol, smoking and vaping,
- Sleeping,
- Sugar/food/ultra processed food consumption,
- Getting active,
- Gambling/compulsive spending.
Your clients don’t have to have issues in all of these areas as this course is preventative.
PLEASE NOTE: There is no visitor parking available on our site, but we are beside Kendal Railway Station and there is parking in Kendal a short walk away.
The Westmorland Shopping Centre multi-storey car park on Blackhall Road, Kendal costs just £1.10 for the whole day if you park before 9am. According to Google, it's just a 9 minute walk from Manna House.
