WHAT’S IN THE NEWS?
cadas’s successful Big Lottery Fund grant for Carlisle is tremendous news. It is good for the organisation, volunteers, the Community in general and for individual clients. We will working in the heart of the community. We will train local people who will gain confidence and new skills so that they are able to help those in their community who have problems with drink and drugs and want to make positive changes to their lifestyle
At our 2009 A.G.M CADAS wished a fond farewell to Ian Bullough (ex President) and Ian White (ex Chair) and welcomed Claire Hensman as our new President and David Edwards as our new Chair. We really appreciate the efforts of the two Ian’s, who have steered CADAS through some very stormy waters and we wish them both well in the future. We have also added diversity and experience to our executive team in the shape of Deborah Neil, Lindy Dodds, Eddie Martin, Richard Dubelbeis and Tony Stephenson. We thank them all for their time commitment and for their input.
In the last quarter of 2009 we held a strategic planing session which we called our CADAS Blue Sky Thinking Day. Sadly, our need to pursue some funding bids and to finalise others has meant that we have been slow to follow up on the excellent work and creative ideas which emerged from that session. The good news is that the work has not passed its sell by date and we are now in a position to start to capitalise on it. This new look web-site is the first concrete outcome from that work and you should expect to see the new look cadas brand to emerge very soon. If you did not attend the meeting or if you have any suggestions for our strategic business planning process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
